cate + jeremy | engaged!

Nearby is the country called Life.

Where to start? This engagement shoot was of monumental specialness to me, since Cate is one of my dearest heart of hearts.

She’s a bright-eyed writer, a compassionate giver, a ferocious athlete, and has the most reckless spirit in every excellent sense of the word.  She’s been my Poppy on so many clever adventures and I love her to smithers. And Jeremy? He’s not too bad himself. I’m constantly impressed by his strong character and kindness, and the few other thousandths amaaaaazing things I so often hear of.

They met at college and for years quietly liked each other from a distance, assured that they’d never have a chance. Last autumn God’s perfect will and timing was made clear as they arrived to that happy place of togetherness. So happy I could give this illustration of their gorgeous love and can’t wait for that sparkly June day. (which I’ll happily live from the other side of a camera. ftw! :])

(Sidenote: a decent superpower would be feeling like genuine best friends with everyone I photograph, it makes such a difference! that or getting this kind of unreal golden evening light more often. I’m flexible.)
