Paula is a wonderful friend + a fantastic photographer who’s helped me with my weddings for so long now. In between all our timelines and inside jokes, each new year of stories about her and Nik make me so happy to know them. They take care of each other as best as any true friends could, and this last golden day felt made just for them. #ethereal #vinaigrettes #yay

View more pictures from their wedding day on Rebekah Murray’s blog and view their wedding video […] Thanks to some weddings and hospitable friends, I got to live the best days of summer faraway with a beautiful month in England. This visit was especially sweet as my mom got to join me halfway through for her first time there, and our time there together made for the once-in-a-lifetime, fill-up-a-scrapbook kind of memories. I’ve been to the UK quite a few times now (which is forever surreal) and rarely have lots of set plans or sights to accomplish, but I’m never without the stunned and wide-eyed appreciation for the beauty that’s simply everywhere. For an aesthetics-driven romantic, it’s like meeting another kindred spirit every wild moss-and-stone hedged garden you pass before stepping in to queue at the bakery up the road… and that’s just from the walk for a morning coffee. This trip I started staying on my own in London for a couple days, then up to the West Midlands for a shoot with the Rock My Wedding team, down to Oxford to see a friend, further down to Bournemouth for many happy days meeting and exploring and preparing for a wedding, (no help from a hurricane) finding new friends to stay with and climb castles with and eat ice cream in a forest with….and after the wedding back up to London for lots of days picnicking and more friends and more meetings and another wedding in a little village with the biggest heart and most fantastically-dressed guests. After a few more days in London (best places: Borough Market, Petersham Nurseries Cafe, Gail’s Kitchen in Barnes, Fortnam & Masons, and picnics everywhere) my mom arrived. We explored some of the city and then set out for West Devon where we’d rented a place for a week. Stopped in Exeter for a night, and then further out to the tiniest village of Lydford where home became a little stone barn with a garden for tea, bikes for our journeys, and meadowy fields with gates for the opening. Packed up our little village life finally ready to go back home, (knowing nothing will ever feel as golden as those evenings and mornings) and returned to London for all the goodbyes and a thought-filled trip home. I feel like the richest person in the world for these memories and I wish I had a little cottage to invite you to for a holiday. For now these photos are the best I have, but hope you enjoy. xx
